A scenic driving tour of Louisiana history. Visit the DeQuincy Railroad Museum and the All Saints Episcopal Church, both listed on the National Register for Historic Places.
 
Creole Nature Trail All-American Road
LA Hwy. 27, Calcasieu & Cameron parishes LA
Exit off Interstate 10 (exit 20) to LA 27 South. Contact: Southwest LA Lake Charles Convention & Visitors Bureau. Admission: Free. A 180 mile walking and driving tour with visitor centers and diorama displays. Near Lake Charles, the Sabine National Wildlife Refuge includes 1.5 mile boardwalk, which offers an opportunity to meet alligators, ducks, nutria and various types of marsh foliage up close and personal. The Cameron PrairieWildlife Refuge recentlyreopened its facility with educational exhibits and animated displays. Louisiana's Western Corridor

From Lake Charles to Shreveport, travelers are treated to such sights as Sam Houston Jones State Park, the Whiskey Chitto, Fort Polk, Barksdale Airforce Base, Kisatchie National Forest, the Toledo Bend Reservoir, the Mansfield Commemorative Area, the site of the last major Confederate victory in the Civil War, and the fun and excitement of the Shreveport-Bossier area.

Sabine Wildlife Refuge

The 1.5 mile marsh (walking) trail, the Wetland Walkway, is open during daylight hours.
